The Format of a Typical OMNi Group Meeting
Currently the OMNi membership fee is $30 per year, and this is paid to the OMNi NSW bank account. In addition, a contribution of a few dollars is paid towards local charges at each meeting.
A meeting typically lasts for 2½ hours, and is often followed by a meal at a nearby
eating place. A facilitator runs the meeting, and he may chose other men to run
various parts of the meeting. This sharing of facilitating leads to an increase
in each member’s self-
The format of the meeting varies from group to group, but typical elements of the structure are as follows:
- Welcome: Members welcome each other in the meeting room.
- Apologies: Apologies from members who cannot attend are acknowledged.
- Quiet Time: One minute is spent to relax body and mind in preparation for listening and interaction with each other in the group.
- Regular Check-
In: Each member has about 5 minutes to share what has been significant to them since their last meeting. - Housekeeping: Any notices, meetings, and other organisational matters are discussed.
- Tea and Coffee Break: There is a break of approximately 15 minutes
- Discussion Session: The break is followed by a discussion of a topic chosen at the previous meeting.

Out : Each member takes about 1 minute to say how the meeting was for them.

Whatever is discussed during the meeting stays confidential.
